The exciting journey back in time to the heyday of the Baroque starts in Stra\u00dfwalchen<\/strong>where the young\u00a0Meinrad Guggenbichler<\/strong>\u00a0worked on the high altar of the parish church. Guggenbichler shaped the art of baroque wood sculpture in the region for decades.<\/p>\n

Onwards to Irrsdorf<\/strong>where the pilgrimage church houses two Baroque carved altars and the second largest high altar in the Flachgau region.
About Steindorf and K\u00f6stendorf<\/strong> with the deanery church, which was splendidly baroqueised in the first half of the 18th century, the tour continues to Schleedorf<\/strong> and across the Egel lakes to the collegiate monastery Mattsee<\/strong>.
The collegiate church with the highest steeple in the region was furnished in baroque style at the beginning of the 18th century. Via Fraham - Perwang - Berndorf - Feichten, the route leads to Lauterbach and Vorau in the Oichtental valley; then back via Lamprechtshausen to Michaelbeuern<\/strong> with the Benedictine abbey, which is known for its magnificent Guggenbichler High Altar<\/strong> with the painting by J. M. Rottmayr.<\/p>\n
