Henndorf has a long creative tradition: as early as the 19th century, dialect poets such as Sylvester Wagner and Franz Stelzhamer lived and worked here. In the 1920s, attracted by the art-minded owners of the famous Caspar-Moser-Br\u00e4u, Richard and Carl Mayr, many literary heavyweights came to Henndorf: Carl Zuckmayer, Stefan Zweig, \u00d6d\u00f6n von Horvath, Gerhart Hauptmann, the very young Thomas Bernhard, his grandfather Johannes Freumbichler, Max Reinhardt and many more.<\/p>\n

The newly created Nature Texts Trail in and through the village provides for a somewhat lighter muse. Here, observations of nature have been translated into tender and simple poetry - in different forms and languages. Take a little time and discover the beauty of nature and the still lively joy of the people of Henndorf in their own writing during your walk along this path!<\/p>\n

Directions:<\/strong><\/p>\n

In front of the municipal office on the green area on the street side you will find the first three poems. Continue on the right side of the road, past the municipal office and flowerbeds, down to the right towards the park. At the Kneipp pools at the upper end of the park you will find more poems.
Below the church, walk left along the stream to Franz-Stelzhamer-Stra\u00dfe, turn left to the little square further up. There are again two poems under the beautiful mirabelle plum tree.
You can find more poems along the main road down towards the village square, at the entrance to Freumbichlerweg around the corner to the right, at the Br\u00fcckerl (in front of the flower shop) and directly in front of the entrance to the Literaturhaus.<\/p>\n
